| From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1940: SPARKLING FROST (Milliken) As the name suggests, this iris glistens and sparkles in the sunlight as though sprinkled with a myriad of tiny jewels. The cool clean flowers of uniform blue-white have a fascination that is beyond description. They are of good size and are carried on 4-foot wellbranchedstems.The ice-blue effect of this new flower is something which we have found in no other iris, and makes this beautiful introduction entirely distinctive. Sparkling Frost is a very strong grower and will be an ideal iris for the milder climates. It is from a cross of Purissima and Easter Morn and as yet its hardiness is not tested. An early bloomer. $7.50. |
