From Schreiner’s Iris catalog, 1952: SPOTLIGHT (Schreiner 1952) ML. 40". The engraver stole our thunder in this magnificent new golden Iris so that scarcely a word of description seems necessary. For a really scintillating highlight in your garden, use Spotlight! Jaunty, regal, large, copiously formed and superbly branched, it definitely supersedes the much smaller Ola Kala and all other gold-toned Iris of our acquaintance except Royal Sovereign, from which it differs noticeably in form. A glint of white below the beard forms an attractive identifying mark. This style champion is so ultra in both poise and polish that it will prove a conversation piece in any garden. $15.00. |
