'Star Lance' (William Plotner, R. 1989). Seedling# 83-384. TB, 38-40" (97-102 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards dark violet (RHS 83A) touched white in center; falls dark violet, dark violet midline bisecting white center, very dark purple (79A) edge; light orchid (76D) beard tipped yellow in throat; ruffled. Seedling# 79-42: 'Darktown Strutter' x 'Ribbon Round') X seedling# 79-23: ('Darktown Strutter' x 'Stepping Out'). Wildwood Gardens 1989.
