1961, Brown

'Startling' (Rex Brown, R. 1960). Seedling# 55-257-20. TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards white flushed apricot pink; falls white, brushed apricot at hafts; fire red beard. 'Top Flight' X sibling to 'Peach Delight'. Brown's Iris Garden 1961.

From AIS Bulletin #161, April 1961. Introducing STARTLING (1961). (Top Flight x Sib to Peach Delight). White standards are flushed with pale apricot; ruffled falls are white with bright apricot shoulders on each side of the heavy, wide, startling red beard. $25.00. Brown's Iris Garden.
