From Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1957: STRAIGHT AHEAD ((Copper Rose x Tobacco Road) x San Antone). Here is a large, full-bodied flower of frosty-edged, rich, golden tobacco-tan Standards and falls are extremely broad, the form ruffled and flaring. Combining, as it does, the best qualities of its distinguished parent in which plant vigor apparently derives from its Copper Rose inheritance. It may well become the favored brown for the Middle West. 32 inches. Midseason-late. $15.00. |
