1991, Moores

'Summer Surf' (Walter Moores, R. 1990). Seedling# 82-23-B. TB, 36" (91 cm). Early midseason bloom and re-bloom (June and November in Mississippi and Texas). Standards pale lavender; falls darker lavender violet; beards pale yellow, tipped white; lightly ruffled. 'Summer Holidays' X 'Hawaiian Surf'. Moores 1991.

From AIS Bulletin #281 April 1991 Introducing SUMMER SURF-TB, 36" EM & RE. A pale lavender and darker lavender violet bitone with pale yellow beards that can be in bloom off and on from summer to frost, its slightly ruffled flowers of thickest substance are borne on tall, widely branched stalks. This iris is not for sale but is offered as a companion plant to Pink Reprise. Summer Holidays X Hawaiian Surf. Walter Moores.
