James Gibson, R. 1976). Seedling# 44-3A. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards Indian yellow; falls white ground, garnet specks and lines along rim; prominent thumbprints of rich garnet-brown, garnet centerline; brownish yellowbeard; ruffled and laced.

From AIS Bulletin #224 Winter 1977 Introducing SUN TOASTED (1977). TB, M, 38", #44-3A. $25.00. The standards are Indian yellow, fluted and laced, with nicely touching tips. The falls are flaring, very fluted and lacy. White ground with garnet specks and lines along the rim. It has a pronounced brown thumbprint at the haft and also sports a pleasing brown stripe down the center. The yellow crest is highly laced. In effect, it is a bright, lacy, spectacular yellow, white and garnet plicata with a brownish yellow beard. Good branching. Halloween Party and Smoke Rings in the background. Gibson’s Iris Gardens. |
