Portefeuille des horticulteurs, 1848 1. Sylphide. Plante d’un beau port; fleur d’une belle facture; pétales extérieurs très-grands, larges, réclinés, ayant environ 9 cent, de longueur sur 5 à 6 de krgeur ; fond blanc pur, strié sur le bord supérieur; les stries , d’un bleu violacé vif, partent de la ligne villeuse, diminuent en descendant vers la partie inférieure du limbe, qui est simplement tiquetee. Pétales intérieurs dressés, larges, se renversant de manieie à abriter le style, d’un blanc pur, bordé partout d’un léger dessin bleu tendre. Stigmates d’un bleu violacé tendre, plus colorés sur la nervure médiane et à sa pointe.

Translation

1. Sylphide. Plant of a beautiful port; flower of a beautiful invoice; outer petals very large, broad, retracted, about 9 cent long, 5 to 6 cm long; pure white background, streaked on the upper edge; the striations, of a bright purplish blue, leave the villous line, diminish down to the lower part of the limb, which is simply ticked. Inner petals erect, broad, overturning mania to shelter the style, a pure white, edged everywhere with a slight soft blue design. Stigmas of a purplish blue, more colorful on the midrib and at its tip.
