'Tabu' (Bernard Schreiner, R. 1954) TB, 35" (89 cm), Midseason bloom. Deep blackish violet, velvety luster on falls. 'Black Forest' x 'Storm King'. Schreiner 1954. Honorable Mention 1954; Judges' Choice 1955.

From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: TABU (Schreiner 1954) M. 38 in. (Parentage not available). Said to be unmatched by any other dark iris in color and finish. A near perfect self of ebon blue black. Large and tall with imposing flowers of silken finish. H. M. 1951. 12.00.
