The Citadel (Graves) Unintroduced white. Magnificent seedling of Dr. Graves. A massive pure white of sculptural beauty, serene and dignified. Buttrick, Stedman (1952). Region One Report, American Iris Society Bulletin 128 (January 1953), 47.
From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: THE CITADEL (Watkins/Graves 1954) M. 38 in. (Helen McKenzie sdlg). A magnificent white that is larger and even more pure in its coloring than its parent. The flower is very large with broad petals and beautifully flaring form Tops. H.M. 1954. 17.50.
