| From Schreiners Iris catalog, 1947: THE ORIOLE (Schreiner 1947) ML. 36". The Oriole has the greatest contrast of colors we have seen outside of the amoenas. The standards are a shade of goldenrod yellow, the falls rich blackish maroon so deep the flower almost looks like a piece of black and gold velvet. Its vividness is most unusual. It is not a fast grower. Price, each $5.00. |
