Bernard Schreiner, R. 1952) TB, 40" (102 cm). Late bloom. Violet self, intense indigo self with red sheen. Combination of very dark seedlings, parentage unknown. Schreiner 1954. Honorable Mention 1954.

From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: TOP HAT (Schreiner 1954) M. 35 in. (From very dark sdlgs., parentage of which are not known). This is, along with Pirate King, one of the two largest of the dark iris. Flowers measure nearly 7 inches when expanded. The color is very dark even to the beard and the finish is very rich and velvety. H. M. 1954. 10.00. |
