ORIGINAL CATALOG DESCRIPTION: |
This year Tell Muhlestein will introduce TOP OF THE WORLD for Margaret Albright. A grandchild of CHIVALRY (BLUE SAPPHIRE X BLUE FLIGHT), neither white nor blue, but an unusual, and completely lovely, combination of both, TOP OF THE WORLD might be called a reverse amoena. Standards are light blue, falls blue white; a heavy bluish beard gives the impression of shadows on new drifted snow. Heavily substanced, silken textured, wide petaled, and ruffled, its beauty returns, like a well-loved melody, to add to the conviction that progress, in the realm of iris, is forging rapidly ahead. [Mrs. J. R. Hamblen, "Drama of Progress", A.I.S. Bulletin 161 (April 1961): 9-10.] |
