From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: TOPAZ (Waters 1954) M. 38 in. (Orangeman x Casa Morena). A distinctive new iris of coffee brown. The standards are flushed with henna which gives a slightly bitone effect, The whole flower of rich brown has a full undertone of pale gold which makes the flower shine with great brilliance. It is very large with broad, clean petals. Choice. H. M. 1954. 15.00.
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1962: TOPAZ (Waters 1954) Each 2.00. A large beautifully formed silky brown over a yellow underlay. Non-fading and of good substance. HM 1954. 38 inches.
