1994, Niswonger

'Upside Down' (O. David Niswonger, R. 1994). Seedling# 34-84. TB, 33" (84 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards lilac blue, midrib deeper; falls very pale lilac blue, near white; beards white, tipped red. 'Battle Fury' X 'Lilac Lass'. Cape Iris 1994.

From AIS Bulletin #293 April 1994 Introducing UPSIDE DOWN (Niswonger '94) Sdlg. 34-84: Battle Fury X Lilac Lass. TB, 33", M. How else would you name a reverse amoena with lilac-blue stds. and near white pale lilac-blue falls? The beards are white based with red tips. A showy addition to this color class. Fertile both ways. $35.00. Cape Iris.
