From AIS Bulletin #138, July 1955. Introducing VICTORIA #5313 (Vatican Purple x Cornflower). This deep blue purple matches Victoria Violet on the Wilson color chart--a hue Queen Victoria preferred to Royal Purple. Flowers are large, of heavy substance and glossy texture. Petals are wide; the standards closely domeed and the falls flaring. Smooth haft. Deep purple beard lightly tipped yellow. 7 to 9 buds on well branched 36 to 38 inch stalks. Midseason to late. $20.00. Long's Gardens. |
