'Waffle Talk' (Richard Ernst, R. 1994) Seedling# JF169-3. TB, 34" (86 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards pale lavender orchid, midrib infused tan; style arms lavender orchid, highlighted yellow; Falls pale orchid (RHS 85D), dusty rose (34D) rim; beards butter yellow; lightly ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. From seedlings involving 'Afternoon Delight'. Cooley 1995.

From 1995 Cooley's Gardens catalog: 'Waffle Talk' (R. Ernst, '95) ML. 34" $35.00. As the light changes, this new iris waffles back and forth from color to color in constantly changing shades of lavender orchid. A burnt rose cast is overlaid on the standards and appears again in a well-defined rim around the falls. Yellow highlights on the styles emit a center glow. Butter yellow beards. Superior branching and eight buds. Purple-based foliage and spathes. Sdlg. JF169-3.
