From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: WAMBLISKA (J. Sass 1930) M. 50". A stunning new white of huge proportions and heavy texture. The flower is well formed and gracefully poised on stalks well over 4 feet which are very widely branched. S. white, with a faint blue flush at the base. F. large and pure white in color. Wambliska is Indian for White Eagle. A Sass masterpiece. $20.00.
From Sass catalog, 1937: WAMBLISKA (Jacob Sass, 1931 )- Snowy glittering white standards with a blue tint at the heart of the flower. Clear snow white falls with pale yellow beard and a few yellow veins at the haft. 30 to 45 inches.(Honorable Mention, 1931). 50c

WAMBLISKA. The huge white self, raised by Jacob Sass of Omaha, Nebraska. This was the most sensational iris of 1930, and is being proclaimed by all who have seen it as the greatest hardy white in the world. Few irises in existence are larger in size, and it flowers abundantly on four-foot sturdy stems. A faint blue flush at the base of the standards gives it a cool appearance, rather than the warm effect of creamy whites like Purissima, Micheline Charraire, etc. It is certain to enjoy world-wide popularity, because of the tenderness of our present super whites in many sections.
