'Widespread' (Caroline DeForest, R. 1969) Seedling# P.C. 6-1. TB, 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards white ground with 1/2 inch stitched border violet-blue; falls white, clear in center, 1/2-inch violet-blue border, styles solid medium violet-blue; beard white tinted lemon inside. 'Circle D' X ('Rococo' x seedling# 31A). Irisnoll 1970.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing WIDESPREAD. 38 inches. The large, graceful flowers have an 8-inch spread. Falls wide, rounded, extra wide at the hafts; no center line. Standards and falls have 1/2 inch stitched border of blue-violet. Styles blue-violet. Beard white, tinted lemon inside the flower. A different, sparkling plicata from"Circle D." $25.00. Irisnoll.
