'Zee' (Donald Spoon, R. 2004) Seedling# 96-295A. TB, 35" (89 cm), Early midseason bloom and rebloom. Standards and style arms midnight blue-violet (close to RHS 86A); Falls midnight blue-violet ½" plicata border on white ground, inner peppering, 1/8" dark midline in center; beards white, tipped lavender, becoming deep yellow in throat; very ruffled. 'Autumn Encore' X 'Lillas Stripes'. Winterberry 2004.

From AIS Bulletin #332 January 2004 Introducing Zee (0. Spoon) TB, 35" (89 em), EM & RE (Eorly October and agoin in November in zone 6b). Sdlg. #96-295A. Very ruffled, midnight blue-violet (close to RHS 86A) plicata with pure white ground and dark, contrasting, wide 1/8th inch dark midline in the falls. Has 1/81h inch dark border on falls with inner peppering. Nearly closed standards and arched falls. White beards tipped lavender at the end and yellow deep. Style arms with darker centerline and laced crests. Vigorous growth. Has borer resistonce ond outstonding winter hordiness. Very dependoble, profuse fall rebloom. Fertile both ways. Ideol cultivar for the florist trade with its sturdy well-bronched stalks with 7-9 buds. Zee is the nicknome of a talented young womon, Zodiac Maslin. (Autumn Encore X Lilla's Stripes). $40.
