References:

From Maple Valley Gardens catalog, 1954: PEPPERPOT, No. 5030 (TECHNICOLOR X LODESTONE). Late, 25 inches, Pepper red (Dictionary of Color), with lacquered finish. There is no plate in the Wilson color chart to match it, but oxblood red heavily infused with brick red gives an idea of its intensity. Neither large nor tall, it is still the first choice of many visitors. H. C. 1951.
