From Franklin Mead catalog, 1929: KING MIDAS Bewitching and the color is unlike any other: the nearest approach is Mrs. H. F. Bowles but King Midas, a flower of the highest quality in every way., is much superior to that variety in color, size, substance. poise, finish, grace and form. 28 inches. $25.00.
From Maple Valley Iris Garden catalog, 1937: KING MIDAS (Mead 1929) VE. 30 in. The “golden touch" of the early season. A rich and gleaming golden brown that lingers in ones memory. Very satisfactory. 25c.
