'Dewa Banri' (Toyokazu Ichie by Currier McEwen, R. 1995) Sdlg. 6A-73. JI (3 F.), 36" (90 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards reddish purple (RHS 77A), small; style arms dark violet blue (90A); Falls light violet blue (92D) base, pronounced dark violet blue veins and halo around rich yellow signal. Parentage unknown; seed from Nagai Ayame Park, Yamagatu Province. Kamo Nursery 1989.

Awaiting original catalog description From AIS Bulletin #301 April 1996 Introducing Dewa Banri (Dewa Far Away) (Ichie 1989). Diploid, 3 falls, M. The dainty 5-1/2" flowers literally cover the moderately tall clumps. Standards are soft reddish purple in contrast to falls of light violet-blue with dramatically dark veins and halos around rich yellow signals. 2 branches. Derived from cultivars in the famous historical collection in Nagai Ayame Park. $25. Eartheart Gardens. |
