'Kaiosei' ( Shuichi Hirao by Society for Japanese Irises, R. 1997) JI (3 F.), 35" (90 cm), Midseason late bloom. Standards medium violet, white and grey flecking and streaking; style arms white, crests light violet with small white markings; Falls medium violet, heavy white and grey flecking and streaking, yellow signal with white halo. Parentage unknown. Introduced in Japan, 1961.
