Information from the State Commission of the Russian Federation for Selection Achievements Test and Protection website: A Group Of Japanese. Plant height 100-110 cm, with a solid arrow suchlikestre peduncle, 3-4-flowered. Flower with a diameter of 18-20 cm, deep purple color, velvety, with bright golden-yellow eye on the outer petals. Blooms from late June 9-19 days. Very stable in the soil. Universal.
G. Rodionenko (Bullet. of the RIS, 1994, p. 22): "In 1956 was created the first in world practice, absolutely winter-hardy variety 'Vasilii Alfiorov'".
