Edwin Rundlett, one of the main forces behind the remontant movement was one of the founders of the Reblooming Iris Society. He was the first editor of its newsletters, serving from 1967 to 1971. He developed an "average frost free" chart for the country to serve as a guide in predicting which rebloomers would succeed in different areas.
