Hybridizer William Simon Snyder (1873-1959)¹

Mr. Snyder, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on December 29, 1959. He had been a member of the AIS since 1927 and an accredited judge since 1935. He was dean of the iris growers in the Sioux City area. His introductions include KAMIV, INSIGNIA, CONCLUSION, BRIGHT MELODY, and GRATITUDE. He was a founder of the Sioux City Garden Club and had served as chairman of "Sioux City, the Beautiful," a part of the national movement for the beautification of cities.-ETHEL K. RICKER.
