A section of the Subgenus Iris . The name means Sand Iris and that is the soil type in which these species prosper. The following species have been included in this group of dwarf Iris: Iris bloudowii, Iris curvifolia , Iris humilis , Iris mandschurica , and Iris potaninii . New Irises not included in the species guide include Iris kamelinii Alexeeva, Iris ivanovae and Iris vorobievii N.S,Pavlov.
