'Yankee Ingenuity' ( Marty Schafer and JanSacks, R. 2009), Sdlg. Seedling S01-4A-11. SIB, 26" (66 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards light blue (RHS 97D); style arms same, pale aqua wash; Falls shades of medium blue (96D), white speckling on shoulders and edge, white wire rim, signal white veined and speckled color of Falls, blue green haze on center line; slight fragrance. S96-66-1: (S93-17-3, 'Over the River' sibling x S92-13-12: (S85-17/18: ('Young Lady' x 'Harbor Mist') x S87-6-2: ('Kenabee' x 'Alter Ego'))) X S96-1-1: 'Lake Keuka' x 'Riverdance'). Joe Pye Weed 2008.
Hybridizer's Comment: Lovely medium true blue with hints of blue-green that enhance its color. White speckling on the shoulders and edges as well as a white rim. Nice full form with big rolling curves. The flowers bloom just above the foliage with 3 or more buds per stalk.
