1914, Dykes
'Agrostifolia' (Unknown). W. R. Dykes (1914) referred to this name used in horticulture for a form of Iris unguicularis of uncertain origin but similar to herbarium specimens from Asia Minor. He notes "the flowers ... have more gradually ezpanding and more pointed fall blades. The white ground between the purple veins is much more visible on the blade and extends irregularly almost to the circumference, which is often edged with white. In such cases, the effect is strikingly delicate and attractive." May be the same as 'Imperatrice Elizabetta'. Syn. Synonym Angustifolia; A form of Iris unguicularis Poir.
