(Nathanael ( Wallich ex Don Cat. no. 5051. 1828); Series EnsataeNathanael Wallich. 6-8” (15-20 ex Don Cat. cm), The only information found was a microfiche of Wallich’s specimen no. 5051. This shows 1828); Series two dwarf irises, with a congested clumps of leaves, the flower at the same height as the intact leaves, older leaf bases remaining broken off about the same height. The flowers have a long perianth tube, subtended at its base by bracts and the stem completely hidden by leaves and bracts. Similar in appearance to Hyacinthiana. Plants under the name Moorcroftiana have been widely distributed in seed lists but no description has been found and no verification that they resemble Wallich’s plant. syn.
