ORIGINAL CATALOG DESCRIPTION: |
From Iris Test Garden Catalog, 1955: ALLINE ROGERS. Form of flower resembles Cascade Splendor, one of its parents. Color inclines more to pink or rose, with a suggestion of ashes of roses in its cast. Gold at haft. Falls quite wide and flat, standards upright and closed. Thirty-four inches tall. Named after the wife of the president of the American Iris Society. Originated by Kleinsorge in 1950. A fine Iris in every way. $3.00. |
"Alline Rogers, on a one-year plant, had a large but somewhat coarsely textured flower which made less appeal to me than its parent, Cascade Splendor-one of my favorites. If it performs as well when established, I may change my mind." John Dolman, Jr. (Pennsylvania), “From Aldan to Walden and Points North, Varieties Noted in 1951,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 123, (October 1951): 16. |
