From Edenwald Gardens catalog, 1957: ALMA BUNDY (Buss '57). M. 40". This beautifully ruffled white iris was named in honor of a gracious lady, who for the past 42 years has been the beloved teacher of the Women's Sunday School Class of the 1st M. E. Church here in Vincennes. There are many white irises, just as there are many Sunday School teachers, but we think these two Alma Bundys, both the flower and the lady, have rather special qualities that have endeared them to all who have known them. This is a large and beautifully ruffled white iris of flaring form and yellow beard, tall, vigorous, floriferous and thoroughly dependable. We have lived with this seedling for five years, comparing it with leading white irises and it has grown steadily in our esteem. $10.00 |
