S. ruffled, a beautiful shrimp pink, another of Cayeux masterpieces; F. same with a darker spot in center, the whole flower glistens and gleams as though the sun was in the heart. A lovely light pink-lavender blend. In a clump, it loses color value due to its tendency to send its bloomstalks up on the outside of the clump and in a wide arc rather than straight up. [Douglas, Geddes (1942). More Variety Comments, 1942. American Iris Society Bulletin, 88(January 1943), 62.]
The very fragrant Among the yellow-toned pinks, I put down ANGELUS (16), AUBANEL has (17), ruffled standards slightly open, and shrimp pink falls with SANDIA (18) that I would get again. AUBANEL is the pinkest of the three. In fact, only a blue blaze. few very new iris are more so. I know have liked it is popular but so much that I am still unimpressed.
