'Aztec Indian' ( Edith Buss, R. 1941) TB. Early to midseason bloom. Color Class-R6M. Bitone, moderate contrast between Standards and Falls. Standards yellow with a faint but complete infusion of red with sparkling iridescence, Falls velvety rich dark scarlet, decorative light line the full length down center; ruffled. 'Brown Thrasher' x 'Gypsy'.

From Edenwald Gardens catalog, 1957: AZTEC INDIAN (W. E. Buss '49) EM.38". Large, blended variegata, very bright and colorful. Ruffled, domed standards are tan-yellow with soft reddish suffusion and overlay of sparkling iridescence. Semi-flaring falls are rich brown-red and velvety. Substance, stalk, branching, floriferousness, and vigor all satisfactory. $0.75 |
