'Bang' (Tom Craig, R. 1955). TB, 38" (97 cm. cm). Late bloom. Color Class-R3. Standards near old cedar, Falls. cedar; falls. near India red. 'Savage' x ('Cordovan' x 'Molten'). Craig 1955. Honorable Mention 1955; Judges' Choice 1956; Award of Merit 1959.

| From Cooley's Gardens catalog, 1959: A new red, with a name in keeping with the impression it creates in the garden! Broad falls of brilliant color and heavy substance, slightly waved; it owes its fine form to CORDOVAN, one of its parents. |
| From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: BANG (Craig '55) M.L. 38 in. Savage x (ordovan x Molten). A large, ruffled bitone. Standards are cedar red and the falls a rich India red. A bit difficult to grow here and in some other areas but certainly worthwhile for it is a top notch red. A.M. 1960 2.00. |
