1932, Ayers
'Coralie' (Dr. Wylie McLean Ayres, R. 1932) TB, Midseason bloom. Color Class S7L Light red-toned to pink squalens or blend). ((Ayres seedling #1:red seedling) x (Ayres seedling #2('Loute' x Iris mesopotamica))) X ('Dauntless'). Honorable Mention 1932; American Dykes Medal 1933.
Coralie: (Ayres). Saw this in a group with about twenty stalks, stood out above all other in color and brilliance. First time I have felt it worthy of Dykes medal. [Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939), 16.]
