'Dark Energy' (Keith Keppel, R. 2016) Seedling 07-173C. TB, 35" (89 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards black-mulberry (darker than M&P 48-L-12), slightly lighter center speckling; style arms dark mulberry (48-L-7), lavender lip; Falls black-mulberry edge extending as slightly lighter and redder (48-L-6) rays into intense golden yellow (darker than 9-L-5) ground which changes to barely showing white ground in heart; beard hairs based lavender-white, brown in middle, light mustard tips. 'Drama Queen' X seedling 02-72E: (seedling 98-204G, 'Tunnel Vision' pod parent x seedling 98-204A). Keppel 2016.

From Keith Keppel catalog 2016 DARK ENERGY M 35" (Drama Queen X (Tunnel Vision pod parent x sibling)). Dark, rich purplish black to reddish brown plicata with high-energy rich golden yellow rays shining through the darkness of the falls. Color balance and depth vary with weather, but it remains striking regardless. Inconspicuous violet to mustard beards, lightly ruffled form. #07-173C. $50.00.
