From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing ELIZABETH STUART-891-1 (((Old Parchment x Golden Majesty) x (Spindrift x Flora Dora)) x Pink Fulfillment))) x One Desire X Cloud Crest. Ruffled, swirled standards are medium bluish-pink. Wide flaring falls are lighter pink with a flush of cinnamon at the haft. Beard is tangerine within, silver at the haft. Beautiful form and color on a strong plant. Named for my wife, it's that good. HC 1970.36". $25.00. Bennett Jones.
Also in the pink-with-blue-influence category are ELIZABETH STUART and 'FLAMINGO FLING'. The former is an orange-pink with blue-orchid blended in, and it is good enough that Bennett Jones named it after his wife. It was bought by more gardeners in Oklahoma than any other 1971 introduction, which is an indication of its appeal. [Mullin, Ron (1971).
