Ethel Peckham (Wmsn. No. 973, 1932). (Griselda X –). Brilliant red effect –unsurpassed by any. Height 34 inches; good branching above midheight; 5 flowers. Very large flowers, of heavy substance, 5 inches high and 6 inches wide. S. arching cupped; very broadly obovate; Rosolane Purple; yellowish and maroon about claw. F. drooping; wedge-shaped; Bordeau, almost solid, copper along the margin near the haft. Haft: limited white at center with large maroon veins. Beard: Cadmium Yellow. Style branches: about like S., crests redder; sides narrowly Pinard Yellow. Fragrant. Only one-half of our stock of this variety is offered for sale in 1932 and our price in 1933 will be the same as for this year. In naming this variety we express only a modicum of the gratitude we feel is due the learned author of the Iris Check List from Iris students for all time. [Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1932]
