From Gwendolyn Anley, (England), “American Irises in English Gardens,” AIS Bulletin No. 107, “Iris Ramblings” (October 1947): "FANTASY, a massive pink in which there is a hint of blue, did not appeal to me as much as the shell pinks, but I liked the contrast between the large purple buds and the near rose-pink flowers. I think this Iris would show to advantage if grown with 'Violet Symphony', 'Mulberry Rose' or 'Lord Dongan', as the magenta tones of any of these three would eliminate the blue from Fantasy and make it appear pure rose."
From Hallcroft Iris catalog, 1949: FANTASY. H. C. 1944. H. M. 1947. A lovely rose and orchid toned pink, distinctive and quite different in color from the flamingo pinks. But it is of the same breeding as the flamingos and has the tangerine beard. The well formed above medium sized flowers have good substance and are carried on well branched 30-inch stout stems. $20.00

From Marble Iris Gardens catalog, 1957: FANTASY (Hall 1947). M. 34 in. This charming and unusual orchid-lavender Iris has a most pleasing combination of colors. It is described as a lovely rose and orchid-pink quite different from the flamingo-pinks. The standards are orchid-lavender, well domed and closely held. The semi-flaring falls are slightly deeper in color with a heavy golden yellow wash on the upper part. The beard is tangerine-red. Illustrated on page 17. Each $1.50. 3 for $3.75.
Fantasy (Hall '44)— One of the most attractive of the Hall iris, in my opinion. It is not too tall for the front of the border where the charm of its flowers and buds can be fully enjoyed. Its rose-orchid-pink blending of color and ruffled form give it much charm. Winegar, Nina N. (1949). Iris Time in the Rockies, American Iris Society Bulletin 116 (January 1950), 69.
