From Carl Salbach catalog 1939: GLORIOLE (Gage). A very fine, large light blue. Simply huge in size, and with ruffled petals. Self-colored. An outstanding variety with extra heavy texture capable of withstanding both rain and sun. A.M., A.I.S., 1935. Mid-season. 40-inch. $3.50.
From Western Iris Gardens catalog, 1948: GLORIOLE (Gage, 1933). E. 42" Cool and refreshing pale blue is here overlaid with frosty iridescence for emphasis. Closed standards and flaring falls are waved and ruffled. Popular. AM 1935. 50c
