1940, Lapham
'Hoosier Sunrise' ( E. Greig Lapham, R. 1940) TB. Late midseason bloom. Color Class R4L. ( 'Rosy Wings' x 'Frank Adams') x 'Riding High'.
HOOSIER SUNRISE (Lapham) "This is an old iris now but I still like it. For years I have wondered why it has not attracted more attention. It is not sensational in its color, a pink or rose blend combined with gold. The color combination is pleasing, however; form, substance, and branching are all good, and it performs well every year." [Jesse E. Wills (Tennessee), “Varietal Comment, Irises Seen in Nashville” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, No. 123, (October 1951): 71.]
