From Cooley's Gardens Carl Salbach catalog for 1937: "Clear, clean blue, 1936: Missouri. A very fine rich blue having a smooth, enamel-like finish. Highly praised in the Mid-West, and without uestion, one of sensational size. There has never been sufficient stock to supply the demand for this iris, declared best new blue iris. Raised by some observers a breeder who hns made a specialty of blue iris. Mid-season to be the late. $4.50. last word in its color."
