From Cooley's Wholesale pricelist, 1932: NENE. Has the reputation of being the world's largest iris, and it certainly is a genuine stunner. The flowers are of staggering size, up to nine inches in height, and are produced on stems which almost remind one of corn stalks. In addition to its size, Nêné is really a beautiful iris, with lilac standards and falls of rich wine-red, darker at the haft. Each $6.00 ; three for $15.00 NENE. 	From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: NENE (Nen) (Cayeux 1928) (Illustrated on page 15) M. 48". This is the largest iris which has been originated. It is gigantic in every way. The flowers are enormous, over 9 inches in length, angles to the standards and beautifully frilled. The color of this iris is most unusual, and it is most beautifully brought out by the soft creamy throat and delicate reticulations on the falls. We regret that we cannot adequately describe it to you. We strongly recommend it. $10.00.
