From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2007: OKLAHOMA CENTENNIAL - TB, 42" (107 cm), Midseason-Late. I am excited that my home state is celebrating 100 years since achieving statehood in 1907. I feel honored that the Oklahoma Centennial Commission asked if I would name an iris OKLAHOMA CENTENNIAL as part of that celebration. I am proud to do so and equally proud of OKLAHOMA CENTENNIAL as it embodies quality in every aspect. Growth is rugged and increase abundant. Show stalks have 10-12 buds and large flowers have classic form with tight ruffling and lace. Standards are medium to dark lilac-purple with a fine network of blue texture veining. Falls are medium violet-blue blending to lilac-purple and etched with darker texture veins. Tangerine beards end in light violet. Sdlg. J437A: Indigo Princess X Mountain View. Photo inside front cover. $50.00. |
