From AIS Bulletin #212 January 1974 Introducing ORANGE PLUSH '74. M. 38".#42-8B. $25.00. This. ruffled, fluted and lightly laced orange-buff iris, altho entirely of plicata crosses, involving APRICOT BLAZE and WILD GINGER blood lines, must be called a self. The only other color is a few fine garnet and brown specks lightly registered in the haft of the falls, not in any way distracting from it. The beard is orange. The style and crest are the same color as the rest of the flower. The form is outstanding. This variety has been one of the greatest attention getters in the seedling rows the past few seasons. The brilliance and clarity of its color is most appealing to all. Flowers are 6"X7", tightly held standards and semiflaring falls. Gibson's Iris Garden. |
