QUECHEE (Knowlton 1950) M. Seldom do we see an iris that is as distinctive in form and color as this handsome red. A garnet red self with broad and cupped standards, the falls, flaring and rounded, and thick short bronze beard. The flowers do not burn or fade under hot sun, and remain in fine condition due to their very heavy substance. H. M., A.I.S. 1950. 37 in. $1.50.[Fairmount catalog, 1958]
