'Queen's Taste' (Geddes Douglas, R. 1950). TB, height 38" (97 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-Vrl/Rm3, Lavender-pink And rose-red bitone. 'Criterion' X 'Olympian'. Fairmount 1952. Honorable Mention 1953, Award of Merit 1955.

NOTE: Not to be confused by 'Queen's Taste' by Carruth 1942.

[Cooley's Gardens 1965]: I believe Queen's Taste was the standout of the season for me because of its unusual coloring. It is sort of an amoena blend, reddish falls with white border, lilac standards and light yellow beard. Flower has good form and adequate stem. Everyone will want this iris. Waters, Don (1952). Random Comment, American Iris Society Bulletin 128 (January 1953), 53. Lavender-pink standards with a strong mid-rib. I believe Queen's Taste was the standout From Wallace Iris Gardens catalog 1955: QUEEN'S TASTE - (Douglas '52). M. 38". (Criterion x Olympian). A byproduct of the season Mr. Douglas' for me because of its unusual coloring. It is sort of an amoena blend, reddish falls with white border, lilac breeding, this is a grand iris in its own right. The standards are a gleaming lavender pink and light yellow beard. Flower has good form the broad falls are a glowing tone of blended red, very bright and adequate stem. Everyone velvety.
