| From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: RED MANTLE (Slamova '61) ++ 35". A deep red, nearly a self, of remarkable size, rounded form & heavy substance. Standards dark carmine. Falls strongly flaring, broad, rounded, dark carmine, veined in carmine-black; beard yellow. Tall, well-branched stalks. Foliage remains green late into fall. Bloomed well for us from mid Oct. up to Feb. except for periods of extreme cold. In a mild climate 1s l1kely to bloom most of w1nter. Pollen fertile. (Joseph's Mantle X (Tea Rose x Yuma)).
